In a move to enhance transparency and accountability, President Bola Tinubu has instructed all ministers to periodically brief Nigerians on their activities and policies.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, announced this initiative during a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday. He explained that the ministerial press briefings would serve as a platform for direct engagement between government officials and the public, allowing ministers to highlight key developments in their respective ministries and address pressing concerns.
According to Idris, the briefings will be held weekly, with different ministers taking turns to update Nigerians on their progress. This initiative comes ahead of Tinubu’s second anniversary in office, underscoring the administration’s commitment to keeping citizens informed about government programs and policies.
Further details on the briefing schedule and specific topics to be discussed will be provided in due course.
