In a viral video that surfaced Thursday evening, Mrs. Idibia expressed concern that 2Baba is not in the right state of mind due to his ongoing divorce from his estranged wife, Annie Idibia.
“Good evening, Nigerians. My name is Mrs. Rose Idibia, the mother of 2Face. This message is for Miss Natasha Osawaru of Edo State. I’m calling on all mothers in Nigeria to help me beg her to free my son,” she said emotionally.
She further claimed that the singer had been influenced and urged Osawaru to remove the beads he was wearing, suggesting they might have a hold over him.
The video emerged shortly after footage showed 2Baba and Osawaru dancing together in the presence of friends. In another clip, the singer presented Osawaru with a ring, followed by a long embrace—confirming speculations about their romance.
Just a day earlier, 2Baba had officially acknowledged his relationship with Osawaru, sparking social media debates. His revelation comes in the wake of his separation from Annie Idibia, with the musician expressing his desire to move forward with Osawaru.
Responding to the controversy, 2Baba took to Instagram to address critics, stating:
“I have seen so many false narratives and malicious nonsense since I posted what I posted. Hon. Natasha has been dragged and called names. But let me be clear—she had nothing to do with my marriage ending. Yes, I love her. She is amazing, and I want to marry her.”
Natasha Osawaru, a politician and member of the Edo State House of Assembly, represents the Egor Constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). She was elected in April 2023.
The unfolding drama has sparked mixed reactions, with fans and social media users debating 2Baba’s decisions and his mother’s public plea.
