In a significant development, citizens of Nasarawa State are increasingly looking beyond the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) due to various livelihood concerns.
The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, represented by Senator Sulieman Adokwe, stated this during the inauguration of the Karu Local Government Area chapter and stakeholders’ maiden meeting.
Senator Mark revealed that the ADC is a coalition of over five political parties working together to rescue Nigerians from the current administration’s challenges.
He emphasised that Nigerians have been plagued by grave insecurity and subjected to untold hardship.
“We are growing a political party that is organic, accommodating farmers, women, and youths. This party intends to give women 40% positions at all levels,” he declared.
In his welcome address, Barrister Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi, the Steering Committee Chairman of ADC Karu Local Government Area and former Federal Minister of Environment, stated that the stakeholders’ meeting aimed to formally launch the party’s logo and rescue Nigerians from economic hardship, insecurity, and provide affordable education and healthcare.
Abdullahi encouraged stakeholders to be law-abiding and avoid making volatile statements. “We are here today as agents of change to reverse the old order by providing solutions to the Nigerian populace.
“We’ve been governed by those who are careless about our people’s plight. That’s why the ADC, if elected in 2027, will ensure prosperity for all Nigerians.”
The stakeholders’ meeting, attended by leaders from the 11 electoral wards of Karu Local Government Area, drew the attention of the Nasarawa State ADC Chairman, who jointly unveiled the party’s logo.
