Leading Nigeria’s filmmaker and actress, Funke Akindele, popularly known as Jenifa has used the occasion of her birthday to announce her new blockbuster film, Behind The Scenes.
Akindele announced the new film which will premiere in December 2025 on her social media handles on Sunday while celebrating her birthday.
The actress also expressed her appreciation to God for her birthday.

“I’m using this special day to reveal my blockbuster movie which premieres in December 2025 *Behind The Scenes*!!!!!
“Expect something intriguing captivating and powerful. This one is very close to my heart, and I can’t wait for you all to experience it.
“Thank you for always riding with me. The journey continues,” the actress said.
Akindele, who is regarded as one of the leading figures in the Nigerian film industry was born on August 24, 1977 in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
The University of Lagos graduate of Law began her acting career in the late 1990s when she acted in the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) television production, I Need to Know.
Some of her production include Jenifa, the Return of Jenifa (2011), the TV series Jenifa’s Diary (2015–present), a sitcom that has earned multiple Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) for Best Actress in Comedy (2016, 2017, 2020, 2022).
Funke Akindele is also reputed as the second Nigerian director to gross over ₦1 billion at the box office and is currently the highest-grossing director in Nigeria, with cumulative earnings of over ₦4.7 billion.
She earned the feat with blockbusters like Omo Ghetto: The Saga (2020), which became the highest-grossing Nigerian film of all time, Battle on Buka Street (2022), and A Tribe Called Judah (2023),
