The Management of Ekiti State University, Ado – Ekiti has debunked the unconfirmed videos and pictures being circulated online, showing the sorry state of the Omolayo hostel located outside the university campus.
A release signed by the Deputy Registrar/Head, Directorate of Information & Corporate Affairs, Bode Olofinmuagun, Ph.D, disclosed that the university management is not happy with the dilapidated and abandoned state of the hostel, but they reiterated that the hostel, located outside the campus, is not the property of Ekiti State University, Ado – Ekiti.
“No doubt, the university Management appreciates the philanthropic gesture of the Late Dr. Lawrence Omolayo, who built the hostel, yet cannot meddle in the family affairs of the highly respected Omolayo dynasty when it has not been asked to do so.
“However, the Management of Ekiti State University is willing to collaborate with the family in undertaking the repairs of the building, if it so desires, since the hostel is part of the enduring legacies of Late Dr Omolayo that students of the university would benefit from,” the school management added.
