Police Command of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) at the weekend confirmed a suspected suicide incident of one Ike Ojo, male, 30, who was found hanging in his house at Kagini, Dei-Dei area of the FCT.
This FCT Police command announced this in a statement signed by SP Josephine Adeh, Police Public Relations Officer, FCT Command.
According to Ms Adeh, the command received a distress call on the 5th of August , 2025 reporting the suspected suicide of one Ik Ojo, male, 30.
“Responding promptly, police operatives from Dei-Dei Division visited the scene and evacuated the victim to Kubwa General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor. The body has since been deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy.
“The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, has ordered a thorough and discreet investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. Further details will be communicated as the investigation progresses,” the police stated.
On Friday in Kagini, a suburb around Kubwa, Abuja, the said Ike Ojo allegedly took his own life by hanging in one of the rooms in his own house.
A man who did not want to disclose his name, said they’re neighbours, describing the situation as shocking.
According to him, I saw the man in his usual self only Thursday when he arrived and entered his house where he lived alone.
“Surprisingly, we woke up this morning and saw crowd gathered and heard that the man had hung himself,” the he narrated.
