Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has urged the newly sworn-in Chief Judge, Justice Umar Abubakar, and the Grand Khadi, Alhaji Siddiku Usman, to diligently fulfill their statutory responsibilities by ensuring the swift dispensation of justice. The governor issued this charge during the swearing-in ceremony held at the Presidential Lodge in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital, on Monday.
Governor Idris emphasized the importance of the judiciary as a crucial arm of the government and assured the newly appointed officials of the government’s commitment to providing necessary support for the efficient execution of their duties. He urged them to uphold the principles of fairness and quick resolution of legal matters, emphasizing the significant role the judiciary plays in the administration.
In response, Chief Judge Justice Umar Abubakar expressed gratitude to the governor for the honor bestowed upon him and pledged to work in accordance with the Oath of Office, adhering to the principles enshrined in the nation’s constitution.
Additionally, Governor Idris inaugurated various Boards of Agencies, Departments, and Parastatals during the event, including the Governing Board for the State University in Aliero, Boards for the College of Nursing Sciences, College of Education in Argungu, Preaching Board, and the College of Health Sciences in Jega, among others.
During the occasion, Governor Idris also announced plans to supply pumping machines to farmers in the state to enhance farming activities and ensure an early bumper harvest. This initiative is aimed at complementing the National Food Security Programme of the Federal Government.
