In a shocking revelation, traditionalist Onifade Oyekanmi, known as Ife, has confessed to his involvement, along with four friends, in the murder of a 45-year-old Fulani woman named Usman Aminat for money ritual purposes.
Onifade disclosed that the crime took place at his residence in Iyana Ajia, Ibadan, Oyo State, on March 13, 2024. His accomplices, identified as Oyebode Olalekan, Ifayemi Ojeleke, and Jamiu Lasisi, were also involved in the heinous act.
The sequence of events began when Onifade met the deceased at a marabout’s place, where they engaged in conversation. She later offered to introduce him to another marabout in Ogbomoso, Oyo State. However, upon learning that the marabout was unavailable, she returned to Ibadan at Onifade’s request.
Tragically, upon her arrival, Onifade and his friends lured her to his residence, where they strangled her to death. They then proceeded to dismember her body, utilizing some of her organs, including her intestine, along with pig and goat intestines, to create a powder for their ritual.
Their attempts to cover up the crime by burning the woman’s mobile phone were unsuccessful, as she had previously used her son’s phone to contact Onifade. This led to their eventual apprehension.
Onifade admitted that their motive was to use the woman’s body for a money ritual, as instructed by a Muslim cleric. However, they were caught before receiving further instructions on how to perform the ritual.
This chilling account serves as a stark reminder of the depths of depravity some individuals are willing to sink to in pursuit of personal gain.
